Due to continued growth, HYDAC is seeking a Manifold Design Engineer at our Technical Center in the Chicago suburb of Glendale Heights.  Established in 1963, and still a privately held company, HYDAC is a market leader in the Fluid Power Industry with over 9000 employees worldwide. Under the direction of the engineering supervisor, the Design Engineer will assist in the development of new products and support and improve existing products

  • Create and modify customer and manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, test procedures, work instructions, hydraulic schematics etc. related to cartridge valve manifold design
  • Design new components and assemblies to satisfy specific customer requirements
  • Interface with engineering lab to coordinate testing of prototypes
  •  Develop performance criteria for product test specifications
  • Initiate, update and maintain systems and workflows for efficient product design
  • Modify and correct engineering documentation to correlate with current manufacturing and assembly methods
  • Communicate with customers and suppliers
  • Participate with other departments to address manufacturing, design or quality concerns, and ensure the continuous improvement of designs and processes
  • Occasional domestic or international travel may be required
Requirements
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  •  3D CAD proficiency using SolidWorks or similar
  •  Knowledge of drafting and geometric tolerancing practices
  •  Knowledge of hydraulic principles, valve types and functions preferred
  •  Understanding of hydraulic diagrams and symbols preferred
  •  Experience in hydraulic manifold design or complex layout design is an advantage
  •  Logic driven troubleshooting ability
  •  Strong attention to detail
