Position Summary: Oversee and coordinate quality functions for Hydac Canada. Manage activities of personnel engaged in production compliance, inspecting, process improvements, certification of product & processes, and the Quality Management System.
Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming goods when required, fabricated products, both in-process and final.
- Assist in the product return process, including inspecting returned equipment for warranty evaluation, customer complaint investigation through testing and reporting (review and writing).
- Oversee internal product, process and system audits.
- Oversee, maintain and plan changes to the company QMS.
- Prepare and plan internal company ISO audits.
- Prepare and plan for external surveillance and re-certification ISO audits.
- Review new supplier applications and perform on-site audits, when necessary, for potential new manufacturing suppliers.
- In conjunction with purchasing, regularly review performance of key 3rd party suppliers to Hydac.
- Coordinate and perform PPAP (production part approval process) as required.
- Investigate quality issues with suppliers to facilitate resolution and remediation.
- Maintain instrument/equipment calibration log.
- Prepare and investigate non-conformance events, including report preparation, root cause analysis, corrective action plans, close-out and corrective action follow-up effectiveness.
- Assist in resolution of product certification issues (i.e. electrical certification, pressure equipment), when required.
- Participate in and provide direction for continuous improvement projects.
- Provide support to customer service and direct to customers pertaining to substance compliance inquiries such as REACH, RoHS, Conflict Materials, etc.
- Training of new colleagues in regards to company QMS.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts and fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to use database software, manufacturing software and spreadsheet software.
- Knowledge and use of standard test and measurement tools and equipment.
- Must be able to travel.

Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in a technical field of study
- Understanding of hydraulic circuits, components and applications an asset.
- Experience with AutoCAD and SAP would be considered an asset.
- Valid Driver’s License.
